It is the capital of the Hunter Region and the most popular tourist destination outside of Sydney in NSW.

GETTING TO NEWCASTLE ...
Newcastle is easily accessible and can be reached in a number of different ways :
By Air: Williamtown (Newcastle Airport) is a 35 minute car trip from the city centre, with regular bus shuttles into town.
By Train: From Central Station, the train will take you all the way into Newcastle. Civic Station is the closest station to the Conference Venue.
By Road: Newcastle is an easy 2.5 hour drive from the centre of Sydney. Follow the signs in from the Freeway (F3) and you will drive onto King Street, the location for the conference venue.
Parking
Newcastle City Hall has limited street parking, with strictly enforced 2 hour meters. King Street Car Park is located a 500m walk from the venue.
Free Bus Service
Any government buses operating in downtown Newcastle (as indicated by the pink roads on the map) are free of charge from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm
